The HOP&RATS association works to promote children's opera and the performing and digital arts through diverse and innovative cultural practices that enable contemporary creation.
It aims to be a place of social cohesion where collective intelligence and goodwill work together on a national and international level.
Presentation
SIJO KoreAcademiArt is an intercultural art education project whose central theme is Korean SIJO poetry, a 1,400-year-old three-line, 17-syllable poetic form. Built on philosophical, political, romantic, and natural themes, it now evolves in contemporary musical and poetic forms around the world.
Andrei Tarkovsky wrote: "Thought is brief, the image created is absolute and invisible, unitary and indivisible... and art is a metalanguage through which people try to communicate with each other, the mysteries of the self, by imbuing themselves with each other's spirit." Poetry represents a worldview. It is not just a literary genre, but a particular attitude toward existence. Thus, it becomes a philosophy and guides humans in their lives.
Teaching modules
Visual Arts
Discover the richness of Korean visual arts through calligraphy, manhwa, and painting. This module explores the connections between Korean and European arts, and includes lectures and cultural tours.
Performing and Vocal Arts
Immerse yourself in Korean performing arts with Buchaechum dance, Samulnori drumming, and choral singing. This module offers an immersive experience blending tradition and modernity, with performances and shows at the end of the course.
Plastic Arts and Fashion
Learn the art of Korean knot tying (Maedup), traditional patterns, and costume design inspired by Korean and Romanian influences. Lectures and exhibitions complete this intercultural module.
Cinematography and Film Script
Discover Korean cinema through screenings, film analyses, and screenwriting workshops. A focus is placed on the works of Kim Ki-duk and cinematic interactions with Europe.
Korean Civilization, Language and Historical Music
Learn Korean while exploring Korean history and culture. Study music from Korean historical dramas and attend lectures on Korean philosophy and traditions.
SIJO Poetry and Manhwa
Immerse yourself in Korean poetry tradition by writing SIJO and creating graphic stories inspired by Manhwa. This module includes lectures on Korean poetry and an exhibition of the completed works.
KoreAcademiArt Intercultural Passport
A unique program that rewards participation in workshops, conferences, and performances through a points system. The rewards include intercultural certifications and opportunities for academic exchange.
