Towards Intercultural Education through Korean Poetry: The SIJO Project and the Summer Academy, Kore AcademiArt Constanta-Busan
In a global context seeking meaning, resilience, and peace, the SIJO educational and artistic project and the Constanta-Busan Summer Academy stand out as a unique example of intercultural collaboration. Led by educational and cultural institutions in Romania, France, and South Korea, this program aims to reintroduce the universal values of creativity, sustainability, and otherness, drawing on ancestral and modern Asian traditions.

SIJO: Poetry from yesterday and today for intercultural dialogue
SIJO, a Korean poetic form dating back to the 7th century, embodies a spiritual and philosophical depth that transcends time. Composed of three 17-syllable verses, it explores themes as universal as nature, love, and philosophy. This project, through its educational dimension, will allow young Romanians to discover this literary tradition while enriching their cultural and philosophical perspectives.
According to Andrei Tarkovsky, art is a "metalanguage" that transcends human barriers. Through SIJO poetry creation workshops and a dedicated festival, the program aims to reconnect younger generations with the essence of poetry as a mirror of the human condition and a bridge between cultures.
